KNK Consulting ("we", "us", or "our") operates the menuVoyage mobile application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

• Apple ID Information: When you choose to sign in via Sign in with Apple, we receive a unique user identifier (sub) and your email address (if you elect to share it). We do not receive or store your Apple password.
• Menu Images: Photographs you upload are transmitted to our servers solely for the purpose of AI-powered translation. Images are processed in real time and are not permanently retained on our servers.
• Usage Data: We record the number of translation requests per user to enforce daily usage limits. We do not log the content of your translations.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the menu translation service.
• To enforce daily usage quotas and prevent abuse.
• To improve service quality through anonymized, aggregated analytics.
• To authenticate your identity and manage your session.

3. Third-Party Services

• OpenAI: Uploaded images are transmitted to the OpenAI API for AI-powered recognition and translation. OpenAI processes this data in accordance with its own privacy policy, available at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
• Apple: Authentication is handled by Apple's Sign in with Apple service. For details, please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage and Security

Authentication tokens are issued as JSON Web Tokens (JWT) with a validity period of seven (7) days. All data in transit between the application and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. We employ industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account identifier and email address for as long as your account remains active. Menu images are processed ephemerally and are not stored after translation is complete. You may request deletion of your account data at any time by contacting us.

6. Your Rights

• You may sign out and revoke your Apple ID authorization at any time through your device's Settings.
• You may clear locally cached translation data within the application.
• You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at the email address below.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at individuals under the age of thirteen (13). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take prompt steps to delete such information.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed on servers located outside your country of residence. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in compliance with applicable laws.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the Service following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.
